The Friends Group

The Friends of the Jonesville Public Library was reorganized in April 2004. The group shares a common interest in commitment to improving library services. On a small scale the group has sponsored programs and individuals have volunteered to work at the library. The ultimate goal and the main purpose in reorganizing the group is to spearhead a project that will eventually give the library a much needed larger facility. The Friends Group is cooperating with the Town of Jonesville to raise funds and find ways to move the library to a larger building. The friends meet on the second Thursday of every month at the library. Each and every member is a valuable resource to the library no matter how large or small their involvement with the group may be. Membership dues of $1.00 per person are collected annually as a way to maintain an updated list of active members.

Our Mission Statement:

Our Library Today

Library History

The library was founded by Mrs. Peggy Dudley and the Jonesville-Arlington Woman's Club. They worked diligently to get a public library in Jonesville. The library opened on May 10, 1962 due to the efforts of Mrs. Dudley and the womans club. Since that time the library has moved into the building we are in today. The building has now become to small to hold all of our books and our patrons which limits us to the resources we can offer. The library continues to rely on the Friends group for their support through fund raisers, volunteering, book store donations, etc.
